Special zombies have unique behaviors or drops that feed directly into high-value recipes. The Fire Zombie is the most economically important zombie in the game.
A burning zombie variant. Drops Explosive Meat when killed and ground into the meat grinder. Explosive Meat is the key ingredient for Explosive Pie — one of the most efficient recipes. Fire Zombies are spawned by the Bombastica class explosive pies on kill.

The Sewers area unlocks on Day 11. Three rat enemies spawn here exclusively, added in the Sewers Update (2026-02-14). The Radioactive Rat is the highest-priority sewer target — its drop feeds the Radioactive Pie recipe. The Sewers boss (Biggie Cheese The Rat King) is documented on the bosses page.

Sewer strategy: Bring a damage class when farming rats. The Radioactive Rat is the priority kill — its Radioactive Rat Meat is one of the rarer ingredients in Bake or Die. Do not ignore Sewer Rats either; Rat Meat adds volume to mid-tier pies.

Fire Zombie drops Explosive Meat when killed and processed through the meat grinder. Explosive Meat is used to make Explosive Pies, one of the most efficient pie recipes. The Bombastica class can spawn Fire Zombies from regular kills.
Banana Zombie is one of the most iconic Bake or Die enemies, recognizable by its yellow banana head. Killing your first Banana Zombie earns the 'Gone Bananas' badge — over 4.5 million players have earned this achievement.
The Sewers area (unlocked at Day 11) contains Sewer Rat, Thief Rat, and Radioactive Rat. The Radioactive Rat drops Radioactive Rat Meat for Radioactive Pie recipes. The Sewers boss is Biggie Cheese The Rat King.
